Impressionism is the name given by Louis Leroy, an art critic, as a way to discard the work done by a group of artists in the second half of the XIX Century. The group was leadered by Claude Monet, and he was the first one to propose a way of looking to natural landscapes away from the academical realism that was the trend in France.
